About

Lion's Head Peak, Appalachian Trail - USA

Hey!

I’m an anthophobic and at times nomadic couchsurfing freelance writer and I write this blog as someone who travels as a way to redefine life and give it meaning – I love to travel!  The travel tips here are hardly what you’ll find in Lonely Planet and there’s quite a bit on cultural traits since I’m a cultural mutt and an aspiring anthropologist.

I was born in Brazil, where I lived till I was 14, when I moved to a New York suburb, from where I moved to New York City, where I worked in a miserable job then…

In April of 2009 I went to Paris for a friend’s wedding and I spent some days in Italy too looking into the process of recognition of my Italian citizenship.  The night after the wedding celebrations I met a friend of my friend Dan’s* and at the end of May my 3 suitcases and I were moving to Paris.  I would break up with the man after one year and three months of (mostly) unhappiness.

This blog is about my misadventures in a new life in Europe – and beyond!  I had hoped to live a life worthy of a classic movie but it’s all turning out much more like a soap opera.  Still, there’s much to be said about taking a chance and changing the direction of one’s life.  I started this blog as a 29 year-old single woman in New York City, where I lived in a small world that was miserable but comfortable.
